Liwen Qin: She is a Columnist, Mini-blogger, Journalist and Writer. She studied International Politics at the Institute of International Relations in Beijing. Liwen lived in Singapore for two years and wrote columns on political and social issues for websites and newspapers.
She moved to New York in 2001 one week after the 9/11 attacks and wrote extensively from there on the aftermath of the attacks.
In 2002 she returned to China to work for THE ECONOMIC OBSERVER.
In 2003-2004 she was sent on reporting assignments to Israel, Pakistan, and various countries in the European Union. She reported on the US attacks in Afghanistan, the death of Yassir Araft, the Middle East Peace talks, and the expansion of the European Union.
Her articles and interviews are published in two books: NEWS IS CRUEL and ADVENTURES AND IDEAS.
Liwen served as Director of the News Center for Sohu.com for 2 years before moving into her present position as Director of the News Center for the Modern Media Group this year (2010).
