WHO? SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND SENIORS ARE ELIGIBLE
What? Interns will work with POLICY IMPACT a lobbying firm in the US capitol city. Work will include assisting the staff with news abstracts, helping to do research for clients, working with the offices of Congresspersons and Senators in the US Congress. There will be opportunities for travel in the US to cities such as New York, Boston, Philadelphia. Lobbying firms represent the interests of their clients before the US government
.When? Three months from September to November 2011. The contest closes FRIDAY MAY 27, 2011 at 17:00
Finalists will be announced on Monday May 30. Interviews will be scheduled for Monday afternoon or evening. Winners will be announced the same day.
Where? You will live in an apartment in Washington DC shared by interns from the University of Utah Hinckley Institute.

Qualification:
1. A high level of spoken and written English. Level 4 is a minimum.
2. Write a one page essay – double spaced – on what you expect to accomplish if you are chosen as an intern. The essay should include an honest self-assessment of your strengths and weaknesses. Start writing now and when you are finished email your essay to pherford@gmail.com
All expenses will be paid by the Li KA Shing Foundation including a small living stipend.
Successful candidates must have or get a passport and a US visa. We will assist you in the process, but you can start doing your research on how to apply for a US visa as soon as you are chosen.
